Changes In The Air? Don’t Bank On It

Well, there is a new pope. The selection didn’t follow the path of the prognosticators, the ethnically black pope didn’t get installed nor did the American good guy. Instead, they’ve installed newness (or oldness, if you will), changes. The new pope is not Italian, not from Europe, not traditional. He takes on a new name for popes, the name Francis as in Francis of Assisi. He’s a Jesuit or “God’s Marine”.

He appears to already have drawn together the strengths of the Jesuits and, by his name, the Franciscan order, consolidating an enormous power. Of interesting note, one of the principles of the Jesuits is adherence to Rule 13 of Ignatius, “Rules for Thinking with the Church”, which states, “That we may be altogether of the same mind and in conformity […], if [the Church] shall have defined anything to be black which to our eyes appears to be white, we ought in like manner to pronounce it to be black.”. Tie in the Franciscan poverty vow and we have a leader to push the redistribution of wealth of the NWO. St Francis, allegedly, first showed the Stigmata of the Passion, the wounds of Christ. Is this going to be a repeat?  Will Benedict be calling the shots from the shadows? Can anyone say, “Here comes the false prophet”?

He’s being called, “the Pope of the Americas” in many areas. It’s that “of the Americas” that catches my eye. I’m mindful of the Word given me in January, “Speak this Word to the America’s” where I had misgivings about the word America’s but God prevailed. Now I see. Since that time we’ve seen the stock market take off to new records levels, unemployment drop, Chavez of Venezuela is now dead, and this pope from Argentina. And it’s only been six weeks. What’s further in store?

Coming up is Obama’s trip to Israel. Under threat of a no-show, Israel did get its government put together by the 14th of March so Obama lost his excuse not to show up (going to Israel will cut into his take the guns away tour). With events in Syria directing toward the fall of Damascus and Iran and North Korea working together to escalate their respective nuclear programs the world is getting a tilt. North Korea has opened the door, now, by officially cancelling the nearly 70 year armistice with South Korea. Obama can’t afford the falling apart of the Korea’s so this trip could mean he’ll lean heavily on Israel to accept the peace covenant, and the new government may lean that way. Spring is just days away, coincident with Obama’s trip, what will spring up in Spring this year? More on what’s coming down the pike later.

What is spring bringing you this year? The same old same old? The above only scratches what’s coming for this year and it should already be a cause for concern. Are you ready for what’s coming? Would you like a new start. Jesus is the start of new beginnings, the old will be put away and a new beginning with His strength and power is yours for the asking. You can put off your sins that bring you down and leave you powerless  in a world falling apart, and ask Jesus to forgive you and take up His gift to you. Then you will be ready for what’s coming.
