Well, he’s done it again. Just when you thought there was no more pushing to be done, he finds another way. The POTUS took the opportunity of the “National Prayer Breakfast “to admonish that Christians have done hideous things, “And lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place – remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ,” the president said.” At the National Day of Prayer breakfast of all things, not prayer just more politics. Lest we forget Mr. President, these weren’t Christians and the Inquisitions were against Christians, this was a vast political force stretching millennium and even exists as a “country” today. That same political force that you have embraced, now, as a partner in your crimes. Whew, got that off my chest. Continue reading
I keep struggling for an answer when pegged with the question about the building “jobs” for the church that are allegedly gone (okay, a couple, conveniently) since the “apostles” died off. I know that apostles are needed now and I know there are a ton of fakes but in my “oldness” I lacked the time to do a thorough study on it. Leave it to my friend Ben in Romania to already have the work done for a nagging thought. An awesome insight and study. Thanks Ben, for the hard work.

I’ve been studying the word “apostle” recently. While I don’t have any “ground-breaking” things to say, I did realize some things that I hadn’t noticed before.
Before getting to the things that I found surprising, let me just say…. I know people tend to freak out when anyone starts talking about apostles, especially when that person believes in the present gift and calling, but bear with me. Don’t freak out. Yet.
Okay, now that that’s done, let’s start with some basics:
1) The term “apostle” used to be a normal Greek word, not a religious word with a capital letter on the front of it. That capital letter and the religious context only came later, much later. In the beginning, it was a word just like any other, just like how “born again” used to mean simply being born a second time, not “prayed a prayer and go to an evangelical church…

Well, it’s that time of year again. I’m getting my usual emails that Christmas is a pagan holiday brought in by catholics, and that you shouldn’t celebrate because it’s unholy pagan worship. Hey, here’s a thought, maybe if you admit to that then the atheists will leave you alone. Shoot, the British Commonwealth countries have the pagan day the day after on Boxing Day, haven’t heard an atheist complain about that yet. Continue reading
I had to twist that a little bit because, though I believe the other way, sometimes the shoe fits. As in this case, sometimes offense is the better defense. Recently, the Duggar family, who has a reality show (sic) about their plethora of kids, has been hauled into a public display, beat down, punishment simply because the family matriarch has taken a strong public stand against forcibly allowing men ( with a Y chromosome ) free access into women’s lounges, restrooms, showers etc simply because the “felt” like a woman that day. They also removed a picture of homosexuals kissing posted to their personal Facebook page, oh the horror ( they also would have removed pic of a guy and a gal kissing wearing nothing but a G string ). It’s obvious, I love music. I live and breath music and the more that I can offer up in God’s service the sweeter it is and the more connected I feel. But today’s music has been getting soft, nice, unoffending. Don’t get me wrong, I like the music, but in a lot of cases there is no strength to it, no relational connection to Christ, kind of like music you could safely hear on secular radio, or love songs you could sing to your sweetheart. Much of the music has lost the edge, the edge of the sword.
Is this what’s happening, Continue reading
As I look back I miss some of the people, who if empowered, could have kept this country great. For now, after their passing, all we can do is revisit and ponder their wisdom and almost prophetic calling. One such man was Paul Harvey. I’d listen with regularity his wit and wisdom and undying admiration for his love, Angel. The following should be almost scary or worse, given he saw this coming and no one knew or cared Continue reading
Poor Laura Brooks. She’s sorry, she didn’t know. It wasn’t until overdue notices started coming, loans defaulted and her cards wouldn’t work that she finally found out she was dead. How rude, no one had the decency to let her know. The same with Leona Turner whose husband had died and while she was trying to show up for a doctor’s appointment the dumbfounded receptionist declared, ” Well, she’s standing here in front of me…”. Judy Rivers was even picked up by the police for trying to attempt a transaction while being dead.
Harry’s checks started bouncing he found out with very irate phones calls Continue reading
