A couple of days ago something happened to me that would have been one of those, “okay, that hurt” episodes out in the field. While clearing out in the woods a major thorny vine got a hold of me in the ear. Instead of being a little prick it kept bleeding forcing me to come in. Nurse Sue was home so she tended me and it was a little prick, not worthy of all the show all over me. While she fussed and fumed all over me that there was so much blood for such a little thing I just sat there and smiled. Eighteen years earlier she chased me around with a Tetanus shot the night before we got married so that I wouldn’t get lock-jaw on our wedding day because I’d cut my finger (maybe now she’s thinking that’s one way to get me to be quiet). Well, there’s no chasing around with a shot this time. While sitting there I hadn’t, yet, caught a view of what I looked like. When I did get a view and saw all the blood I said to Sue jokingly, ” Wow, I wonder if that’s prophetic? Well, at least I get shot in the head.” Continue reading
Well, it’s that time of year again. I’m getting my usual emails that Christmas is a pagan holiday brought in by catholics, and that you shouldn’t celebrate because it’s unholy pagan worship. Hey, here’s a thought, maybe if you admit to that then the atheists will leave you alone. Shoot, the British Commonwealth countries have the pagan day the day after on Boxing Day, haven’t heard an atheist complain about that yet. Continue reading
I had to twist that a little bit because, though I believe the other way, sometimes the shoe fits. As in this case, sometimes offense is the better defense. Recently, the Duggar family, who has a reality show (sic) about their plethora of kids, has been hauled into a public display, beat down, punishment simply because the family matriarch has taken a strong public stand against forcibly allowing men ( with a Y chromosome ) free access into women’s lounges, restrooms, showers etc simply because the “felt” like a woman that day. They also removed a picture of homosexuals kissing posted to their personal Facebook page, oh the horror ( they also would have removed pic of a guy and a gal kissing wearing nothing but a G string ). Well it’s coming, and come. The church of ungod. Yesterday was an advent, a coming out party for the atheists who actually coveted what, at minimum, the pseudo christians had, and created their own church. I’d mentioned years ago, when I lived in the shadow of the FFR (freedom from religion) headquarters, that atheism is just a religion without God. They had their annual meetings with songs and preaching and someone there actually said, “it seems like church”. Continue reading
Ok. So I’ve been busy, too busy with the farm and I’ve been neglecting everyone while something insidious has been going on and I am so sorry for that. The recent “slim down” in federal finance has only been to “hit ’em where it hurts” against middle of the road voters. That’s pretty obvious to anyone with two eyes and a brain. Closing national parks, war memorials, anything dear to the public ( I’ve been made aware that BO’s favorite golf course is still open) to set rage against those who are trying to reel in this run away government.
The phrase is taken from the movie “Twister” when they were caught in a tornado and cows came spinning by, and we still pinch ourselves as an almost equally incredulous expression. We have cows. Why, we’re asked? You don’t even have a farm, what’s the logic in that? Answer, because God says. Whenever I see or hear a preacher talking about logic, it’s only logical, it only makes sense, in regard to God and His workings I always wonder what Bible he is reading. Continue reading
At this time in history, when so much prophecy is breaking out to fruition, when many friends and family are passing away and the prophetic comes out for readiness, I can’t help but feel a quiet anticipation, joy and fulfillment that the time is near, or here, that the perfection is about to come, the time of completeness. Jesus is about to return for His Bride and all the things that seemed so important will fall away when He comes in His completeness. Like the Hebrew marriage, we are betrothed to Him and He has gone to prepare the wedding chamber, and when complete He will return for His Bride. And that would be us, we who love Him. Today is Pentecost Sunday (not Pentecost for the sake of my detractors) When we celebrate God’s outpouring and Gift of the baptism of the Holy Spirit and power. Continue reading
