Press the warning to the people

Late in 2009 I was, like so many others, ignorant, just following the flow, praying daily and just moving along in “Christian” life. Then I got this email that had a link to the famous Al Gore Photoshopped global warming picture from his book. Well, I clicked the link to “Prison Planet” that changed my life forever. Granted there’s a lot of sensationalist news there, but the stuff that vetted out was earth-shaking, dropping me to my knees in really serious prayer where God moved me to speak out. Since that time God has moved (directed, commissioned, commanded, pressed into service) Sue and I to study, research, trace and chase down what’s going on in the church and world and the present dangers and blessings to come.

We really didn’t know what it was we were doing, outside of the growing burden of what we see and the need to tell, exclaim, shout it out. Very much like seeing a child heading into the street with a truck bearing down and catastrophe sure to happen, and being able to do nothing but shout out the warning. If you’ve ever been there, it’s a helpless feeling with only a hope the child will hear and stop. The last few years we’ve met scorn and ridicule, a raising of the eyebrows when we speak, frustrating to say the least, but still feeling the urging of the Holy Spirit to speak it out.

Little did we know what it was we were doing until earlier this year someone pointed out that we were watchmen. Watchmen on the wall. Well I had to look it up, really, it was a new one on me and sounded too close to Jehovah’s Witnesses so I got into the Bible and there it is. In a number of places its referenced but the one that stood out was:

Ezekiel 33:6
“But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes the life of one of them, that man will be taken away because of his sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for his blood.’”

Wow, that’s serious. Of course I complained but the message came back, ” I have chosen you, I will protect you.”.  So Sue and I take this commission very seriously.

It’s an interesting trek, going through, vetting the plethora of information out there. “Conspiracy” theories abound, some crack pots, some more factual than most want to admit and bury it under “conspiracy theory”.  Lots of entertaining reading of this date and that date, though Christ tells us in Acts 1:7 , He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.” There is a tremendous amount of danger to the church present, Universalism, Chrislam, Emergent Church, emerging church, NAR, Word of Faith movement, Kundalini and the signs and wonders. Many of the elements of these are infecting even the most well-meaning of churches threatening to lead them down the road to apostasy.

But He does warn us and give direction. He encourages us in this time, when the end rapidly approaches that He is in control. He tells us to prepare. But prepare what? James tells us not to trust gold or silver,

James 5:3
“Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days.”

So, do we put up stores of food and bartering stuffs? Sure, if you feel led, you may not need them if the Lord calls us up, but your loved ones left behind will need them. With what’s coming, economic collapse, cataclysm, destruction, persecution for your faith, what is truly real preparation? Read, pray, obey, everyday. Feed yourself on God’s Word, the first place the enemy will try to starve you, immerse yourself in it and you will have its protection. Then listen, listen for God’s still small voice for direction, He may not want you to invest in stores as He may move you off tomorrow for your protection. He may want you to stay right in the midst of total nastiness that the world is going to heap. In all this, trust in Christ, He will protect you and deliver you. But be grounded in His Word, some folks have problems that are brought on by themselves and their own sin or disobedience.

Sue and I have been accused of doom and gloom, how can we live with ourselves and such a specter of the future? Well, here’s the clue, we’re not sold out to the things of the world. Currently God is telling us to sell our nice big home that we love and to move where He directs us. We love our home and the place we are, but we do His will joyfully, because we are excited in what He has in store. Are you excited for what Jesus has for you? Are you looking at this future with sorrow? Are you fighting to keep what you can’t hold on to, that which is slipping away because God has cursed it. Are you cursing God on account of it? No, don’t do that, God is sovereign and just. Draw close to Him, He is far better than any of the toys of the world that you long for. You may think you want to follow the World Order, but know this, all these things will be stripped away, and all that will be left be will be God and your decision. Decide, now, who you will follow, will you follow Christ, or will you follow the road to destruction?
