How much is a life worth, Barack Obama?

What a year on the political circus wagon, so far the worst in American history, that is really heading down the tube. Recently one candidate accused the POTUS of paying a huge ransom for four  https://i0.wp.com/www.gannett-cdn.com/-mm-/6f7107c98cf858bc58f44d03efb28b27e51b3ebb/c=222-0-1629-1059&r=x404&c=534x401/local/-/media/USATODAY/USATODAY/2014/06/04//1401882754000-AP-Afghanistan-Captured-Soldier.jpgAmerican hostages held by Iran, $400 million, that amounts to $100 million each. That tops, presumably, releasing 5 terrorists for one military deserter. WOW!

One Nation God , America Declares New Independence

A couple of days ago something happened to me that would have been one of those, “okay, that hurt” episodes out in the field. While clearing out in the woods a major thorny vine got a hold of me in the ear. dan bloodInstead of being a little prick it kept bleeding forcing me to come in. Nurse Sue was home so she tended me and it was a little prick, not worthy of all the show all over me. While she fussed and fumed all over me that there was so much blood for such a little thing I just sat there and smiled. Eighteen years earlier she chased me around with a Tetanus shot the night before we got married so that I wouldn’t get lock-jaw on our wedding day because I’d cut my finger (maybe now she’s thinking that’s one way to get me to be quiet). Well, there’s no chasing around with a shot this time. While sitting there I hadn’t, yet, caught a view of what I looked like. When I did get a view and saw all the blood I said to Sue jokingly, ” Wow, I wonder if that’s prophetic? Well, at least I get shot in the head.” Continue reading

Is a Wrong Day Right?

Well, it’s that time of year again. I’m getting my usual emails Christmas treethat Christmas is a pagan holiday brought in by catholics, and that you shouldn’t celebrate because it’s unholy  pagan worship. Hey, here’s a thought, maybe if you admit to that then the atheists will leave you alone. Shoot, the British Commonwealth countries have the pagan day the day after on Boxing Day, haven’t heard an atheist complain about that yet. Continue reading

Get On Your Knees and Fight Like a Man!

http://cccmurphysboro.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/praying-israelite.jpgIt’s obvious, I love music. I live and breath music and the more that I can offer up in God’s service the sweeter it is and the more connected I feel. But today’s music has been getting soft, nice, unoffending. Don’t get me wrong, I like the music, but in a lot of cases there is no strength to it, no relational connection to Christ, kind of like music you could safely hear on secular radio, or love songs you could sing to your sweetheart. Much of the music has lost the edge, the edge of the sword.

Is this what’s happening, Continue reading

If I Were the Devil

As I look back I miss some of the people, Paul Harveywho if empowered, could have kept this country great. For now, after their passing, all we can do is revisit and ponder their wisdom and almost prophetic calling. One such man was Paul Harvey. I’d listen with regularity his wit and wisdom and undying admiration for his love, Angel. The following should be almost scary or worse, given he saw this coming and no one knew or cared Continue reading

But I’m Alive, Really I Am!

Poor Laura Brooks. She’s sorry, she didn’t know. It wasn’t until overdue noticeshttps://i2.wp.com/www.batteredsheep.com/graphics/rip.jpg started coming, loans defaulted and her cards wouldn’t work that she finally found out she was dead. How rude, no one had the decency to let her know. The same with Leona Turner whose husband had died and while she was trying to show up for a doctor’s appointment the dumbfounded receptionist declared, ” Well, she’s standing here in front of me…”. Judy Rivers was even picked up by the police for trying to attempt a transaction while being dead.

Harry’s checks started bouncing he found out with very irate phones calls Continue reading

It’s Friday, But Sunday’s a Comin

it's friday

I know it’s Friday, for many just a day, for others an incredible holy day. A time of sorrow, for some a time of joy. For non-believers a time when history just continued to move on, another rebel on the cross, an insignificant killing by the Romans like so many of the thousands before, hardly noteworthy except by a couple contemporary historians and that only in passing. There are some who argue it wasn’t really Friday, but that’s a different discussion.

A guy hung on a cross, and true as the Chief Priest had hoped, His followers scattered like bugs under a rug.  Continue reading
