Well, here we are, ten days to go. I’m all set, made all my preparations, I’m good to go.
I talked to all my adult kids, made peace with any issues we had. I took out a $500M loan from a loan shark to ensure my cabin in steerage on one of the arks stowed in the Himalayas, booked my flight to get there. I’m not too worried about the loan shark . Harold Camping was old and wise, but the Mayans, they were older and that was a smart group. I’m not worried about the fact they don’t exist anymore, they built that great place.
It amazes me, yet brings me great relief that more people aren’t on board with this. There’s not enough room in the arks as it is. Yet the writing is on the wall, or the stone, if you will. How can people ignore it, it says so, right there. Well, I for one am not about to ignore it. My house is sold, my bags are packed, gave my dog to my friend (the one I didn’t tell about the ark). We have a party planned the day before I leave for my (ahem..) Peace Corps trip (didn’t want to cause any consternation) so I don’t leave behind any food perishables. It’s good, I’m set, looking forward to the wonderful world that will be after the water subsides…….
Ya right! I got a bridge to sell ya, too.
It’s been an interesting couple years, and will be a stranger next ten days. Not unlike the Y2K, lots of money spent, even more raked in. Great plot line, lots of stories, deep research, opinions and blogs abound and there’s hope, so they say. The cosmos has a great cycle for this specific planet. Skip the rest of the universe, this planet is special and the cosmos wraps itself around it and it’s two-legged inhabitants to recycle man into something good. Well, they have that part right, man is inherently headed for destruction, because man is inherently evil…. So will this new start bring the Mayans back?
Ancient writings. We should just throw them off. Interesting, no doubt, but useless, written by a people long dead. But what if ancient writings stand the test of time? What if those people also stand the test of existence over many millenia? What if those ancient writings foretold events that actually came through, events that are unfolding before our eyes? Believable? I’d think so.
The Bible, written long ago, has stood the test of time. The people that wrote it have stood the test of time. And the prophecies contained in it have stood the test of time and now before our eyes are coming to pass. From the return of the State of Israel to the natural and unnatural events taking place, these things were foretold. The world’s population begins more and more to long for a common government, a world order, a leader that can bring peace for everyone. The Bible tells us this will happen and it is happening.
Jesus warned in Matthew 24
New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)
4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,[a]’ and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.
New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)
The Day and Hour Unknown
36 “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[a] but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
Even modern-day Words of Prophecy have been given, long ago by our time stands, way back in the early 70’s. David Wilkerson told of a vision given him describing what we now know as cable TV, he told of being able to view pornography in the privacy of your home (at that point you had to go out to some sleaze and purchase a 16mm reel to take home) with DVDs and even TV. This has come to pass.
These times are real, not some made for TV movie. The Bible is real and living, not some carved rock, long forgotten. These things are coming to pass right before our eyes, and yet people ignore it. They continue on as though nothing were happening, government “experts” reassure that nothing new is happening, that things are going on as they always have been. Though the experts are at a loss as to the events over the last two years, they still try to keep things separate to try to explain them away. Taken as a whole, it is clear that the times, written about long ago are unfolding before our eyes.
What else does the Bible say? That man is inherently evil, born into sin and rebellion and worthy of nothing but judgement. Well, that’s a downer. But, there is hope. The God of the Bible, the God of the universe, the God of all creation IS focused on man, that He created for fellowship with Him. He wants you and me, He wants you back in His presence and He provided a way for that to happen. He sent His only Son, Jesus, to bear our penalty as a gift. A gift for you and for me. The only requirement is for you to accept your guilt, accept that you are a sinner and in need of help, accept that Jesus died for your sins. God brought you here, when time is short, for this message because He loves you. Take this time, repent and take His gift of eternal life. It is here for you.
