Response: A time of Many Transitions
Good morning Glynda,
On spot, but then again, when is God not.
Yes, many transitions and changes as God prepares each of us to stand against what is coming. In our home God has prompted us to be ready to move at a moments notice. God has set me aside from youth ministry while one man’s selfish ambition effectively shuts down the ministry, after which I will be restored to another. Many of God’s faithful long to hear the present Word of God but only hear niceties and cautious avoidance.
God is shaking things, spiritually and physically, as evidenced these last two days with the earthquakes. We will meet challenges that we would never expect or that we thought we were prepared against. But it is God’s preparation, not ours that is effective.
Take strength in 2 Cor 1:6-11
6 If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. 7 And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.
8 We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life. 9 Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. 10 He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, 11 as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our[a] behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.
God will not leave you, nor forsake you. We need to lose that which weighs us down, that we can be lifted up in Him, without fear or apprehension. to trust Him and do His good work….
