It’s Friday, But Sunday’s a Comin

it's friday

I know it’s Friday, for many just a day, for others an incredible holy day. A time of sorrow, for some a time of joy. For non-believers a time when history just continued to move on, another rebel on the cross, an insignificant killing by the Romans like so many of the thousands before, hardly noteworthy except by a couple contemporary historians and that only in passing. There are some who argue it wasn’t really Friday, but that’s a different discussion.

A guy hung on a cross, and true as the Chief Priest had hoped, His followers scattered like bugs under a rug.  Now we can get on with the status quo, keep the Romans happy and out of our way. Now, time to get someone busy fixing the veil to the Holiest of Holies that got torn in the earthquake, what a bummer that was. We’ll get going on that after the Sabbath, …where’s that duct tape….

And His followers, champions all of them. Peter, pretty much swore by Heaven and earth that he’d never forsake Him and all the others nodded in agreement. So tonight they’ll be hiding in a cubby somewhere, nearly peeing themselves at every sound of a foot step. They’re next on the hit list, hanging out with this guy for the last three years. What are they going to do now, their livelihood is gone, they’ve been riding His coat tails this long. They could never face their old friends. What to do….

And in another totally different realm, unseen to human eyes there’s dancing and celebration. Lot’s of high fives going around. We’ve taken care of Him, we won, strength in numbers and boy do we have the numbers. He thought He could win, this is our world, He gave it to us to do what ever and now because He lost we have a lot of fun ahead….

Lost in all this is the fact that  He, knowing man, gave Himself up, willingly. He knew, from the beginning of time that man would need help, that there would need to be a sifting and that only those wholly devoted would be able to enter into His father’s presence, with His help. When man transgressed the law only the purest of sacrifices would suffice. Since man could not accomplish it, He offered the purest of sacrifices to cover all offenses, Himself. With this one selfless giving, He gave the gift that keeps on giving.

Jesus came, He taught and refreshed, He gave Himself up as a sacrifice for our imperfection, defeated sin and death on the third day by rising from the grave. And He left us with a gift and a promise. All we have to do is accept that gift, and give ourselves to Him who has promised to redeem us, protect us and return to bring us home to Him. If you’ve never accepted Jesus, look deeply into yourself, understand the sin that drives you and release it to Jesus and accept His gift to you. If you think you’ve taken that step and walked away leaving that gift on the doorstep, come back to Him, look around at this world as it’s falling apart signaling His impending return, come back to Him, time is short. It’s Friday………but Sunday’s a comin…

I Believe, Let Me Roar That

crossI can’t believe the significant increase in traffic over a post I made almost two years ago. The sting and conviction must be increasing and in effect validate the post of the Watchman. The posting, “Roaring on the inside“, was intended to sound a concern with personnel changes with the Newsboys and maybe a little drifting into the Grand Delusion. That discussions that have developed always entered into two schools of thought. One supporting the concern over the possibly veiled acceptance of perverting the scripture or the other supporting such creative license to do what ever with the scripture. The latter always come up with straw man arguments to support the cause but lack scriptural base themselves. The detractors typically come up with, “God Roars”, “Jesus is the Lion of Judah”, “C.S. Lewis has Jesus as Aztlan the lion roaring”, ad nauseam .

Though no retraction ever came out of it I believe the conviction was there on the part of the music team. If my job was to call them out and ensure they remain true to their original call then I feel the job was done. Recently this song has come out, seemingly as a response and I can say, “thank you, Newsboys, well done.”. It’s a great song, I can lead it in worship, I can confess it before others, I can shout it from the mountaintop and more than anything, I can say AMEN to it. Enjoy….

In this time of desperation
When all we know is doubt and fear
There is only One Foundation
We believe, We believe
In this broken generation
When all is dark, You help us see
There is only One Salvation
We believe, We believe
We believe in God the Father
We believe in Jesus Christ
We believe in the Holy Spirit
And He’s given us new life
We believe in the crucifixion
We believe that He conquered death
We believe in the resurrection
And He’s comin’ back again, we believe
So, let our faith be more than anthems
Greater than the songs we sing
And in our weakness and temptations
We believe, We believe!
We believe in God the Father!
We believe in Jesus Christ!
We believe in the Holy Spirit!
And He’s given us new life!
We believe in the crucifixion!
We believe that He conquered death!
We believe in the resurrection!
And He’s comin’ back again!
Let the lost be found and the dead be raised!
In the here and now, let love invade!
Let the church live love our God will see
We believe, We believe!
And the gates of hell will not prevail!
For the power of God, has torn the vail!
Now we know Your love will never fail!
We believe, We believe!
We believe in God the Father
We believe in Jesus Christ
We believe in the Holy Spirit
And He’s given us new life!
We believe in the crucifixion!
We believe that He conquered death!
We believe in the resurrection!
And He’s comin’ back,
He’s comin’ back again!
He’s comin’ back again!
We believe!

The “Son of God” Movie Is NOT What We Think–Do You Know The Voice of Your Master

godsfingers:

We most assuredly need to remain aware of our surroundings and what is going on. Not everything is a better option to filth. Is it better fill ourselves with low doses of evil? Turn the TV off, seek God in His word and be filled.

The Last Hiker does a wonderful job of presenting the subtle move toward apostasy being thrust on us as ” a better alternative”.

Originally posted on The Last Hiker:

Last year the History Channel featured the epic television event, “The Bible Series,” which was produced by Roma Downey and her husband Mark Burnett. This show captivated audiences and became the talk of many churches. Churches even purchased pre-written sermons to go along with the show, which according to outreach.com made it into 180,000 churches.

Roma and Mark were endlessly interviewed in Christian magazines, and on Christian radio. All along saying that they were sold out Christians and believers filled with the Holy Spirit.

And the churches bought it.

They promoted it.

And yet, as I watched “The Bible Series,” I personally became furious at how much they twisted the word of God. Not just omitting things for the sake of time–but changing the theme, the message, and the nature of Bible characters, and the nature of God Himself.

That is inexcusable.

God will judge that.

I was furious.

I’m Not King Obama? You Just Watch Me!

godsfingers:

I got an email forwarded to me from Jay Sekulow at ACLJ.org saying Obama is not King. We agree, technically no, but he has been setting himself for awhile. I figured this thought needed revisiting…

So where are we? There’s going to be an inauguration in a couple days. Apparently not many feel inclined to show up even though more money is going to be spent. He got re-elected but not many seem to excited, go figure. Perhaps it’s this ever growing despotism, perhaps it’s just mid-winter blues.

Perhaps it’s the false flag that happened in December, that we’d been predicting. Many are still livid at the suggestion that the Sandy Hook “tragedy” is a hoax, a false flag but the growing evidence, the continuing pining in the press about the need for gun control to avert another tragedy, begins to show otherwise. Hide behind the children like a good terrorist. Obama’s own words point to the need to…

Here We Go, King Obama Has Done Spoke!

obama pointing finger

Now you listen to ME!

Well, there ya have it. We’ve warned, cajoled, shouted front the house tops and now, out the mouth of the king himself, comes the declaration that the US Constitution is meaningless. Whether Congress goes with him or not he’s going forth with his own agenda and purpose. We presented to you Obama as king in, “Obama, Messiah, King of the Lose” and what the Bible told us about another nation that wanted to turn from the sovereignty of God to a earthly king, “like all the other nations…”  Continue reading

What are you waiting for?

Bethlehem

And the star shone brightly over head, showing the place.

Merry Christmas! And if I missed offending someone, Merry Christmas, peace on earth, goodwill toward men, the Christ has come. There, I said it, expect no apologies. Whether it’s the right day, the left day or somewhere in between. Whether you believe in the God of Abraham or the god of man’s finite and ever-changing wisdom. Whether you’re drunk on eggnog or have drunk the new wine of the Holy Spirit. This is the time and the message of the season and even more the entire year. Nothing black about it.

So what are you waiting for? Continue reading

RFID and other reports

RFID

I was at church yesterday at an after church feed (well, ya have to feed the flock doncha know) and talk headed toward RFID implants and I was told that involuntary actions were already taking place as an experiment in Wyoming. I found this pretty alarming. My darling wife, who assists God in keeping me grounded ( a task that even God needs help on occasion) checked Snopes and said it was false, but added, “where there’s smoke there’s fire.”. I concurred given that we are in chipWisconsin and the former Governor that tried to be senator was on the board of Applied Digital Solutions (makers of VeriChip technology)so we have a little insight into the direction things are going.

While checking out the story on my own, Continue reading

Welcome to the church of ungod

Well it’s coming, and come. The church of ungod. un-crossYesterday was an advent, a coming out party for the atheists who actually coveted what, at minimum, the pseudo christians had, and created their own church. I’d mentioned years ago, when I lived in the shadow of the FFR (freedom from religion) headquarters, that atheism is just a religion without God. They had their annual meetings with songs and preaching and someone there actually said, “it seems like church”. Continue reading

Moving Day

uhaul

We close on the farm this coming Monday. Whew! We’re filled with excitement and, at the same time, a bit of trepidation. God called Sue and I a year and a half ago to move. Where? A farm? But were not farmers. I’ll provide. A year and a half later God is good on His calling and His promise.

Over the last few weeks I’ve been impressed (when I’ve had time) of how, kind of, disconnected things have seemed. Continue reading

We Got Cows!

Our new herd

The phrase is taken from the movie “Twister” when they were caught in a tornado and cows came spinning by, and we still pinch ourselves as an almost equally incredulous expression. We have cows. Why, we’re asked? You don’t even have a farm, what’s the logic in that? Answer, because God says. Whenever I see or hear a preacher talking about logic, it’s only logical, it only makes sense, in regard to God and His workings I always wonder what Bible he is reading. Continue reading

RSVP: Have you sent yours?

godsfingers:

Reblogged this, it’s always an important thought.

Originally posted on godsfingers - Watchman on the Wall:

Well, I’m recovering, now, from hosting our daughter’s wedding a week ago. I never realized how much work, effort and sacrifice go into such an endeavor. This was my first time putting on something big, and this was a small wedding of 90. I can’t imagine one of these huge weddings with hundreds of guests. And through it all I learned something really important about the RSVP.

I grew up in a large, pretty much dysfunctional family. The eighth out of nine kids I pretty much followed the train. My mom was pretty much narcissistic so anything to do with invitations was all about her and nothing really ended up getting down to my end of the pecking order. So etiquette and protocol weren’t important to me, I just followed the crowd. When I was old enough to actually get an invite I didn’t know what RSVP was for let…

Love Never Fails

handsAt this time in history, when so much prophecy is breaking out to fruition, when many friends and family are passing away and the prophetic comes out for readiness, I can’t help but feel a quiet anticipation, joy and fulfillment that the time is near, or here, that the perfection is about to come, the time of completeness. Jesus is about to return for His Bride and all the things that seemed so important will fall away when He comes in His completeness. Like the Hebrew marriage, we are betrothed to Him and He has gone to prepare the wedding chamber, and when complete He will return for His Bride. And that would be us, we who love Him. Today is Pentecost Sunday (not Pentecost for the sake of my detractors) When we celebrate God’s outpouring and Gift of the baptism of the Holy Spirit and power. Continue reading

Don’t Be Troubled

In response to Glynda’s message “Nothing To Fear“.

“”Good morning Glynda,

Yes, it has seemed a little worrisome in the silence. It hasn’t been just you, but for many of us. And your confirming Word is that He HAS been working all along, just as He promised us, through Word last year.

In looking behind (I know, we shouldn’t look back) we can see He has been carrying us, no harm has befallen us, some of us have been put into a forced(?) “be still and know I am Lord” period.

For some it is a disconcerting period, not hearing Words of judgement and calamity, but, God fulfilled His Word and put into action in November, that which was warned. There is no need to HEAR a Word right now, look around and see the evil unleashed as God withdraws His hand of protection.

“Be still”, until God specifically calls you into action, and enjoy His presence by your side. Let not your hearts be troubled, He is here. Continue reading

You Will Always Have the Poor

godsfingers:

Poor by circumstance, poor by choice, poor in spirit, you will always have the poor. Americans still, even under the judgements, haven’t got a clue. Some government handouts leave the “poor” American better off than middle class in some countries. Only in submitting to Christ can one find the true riches and glory that can’t be bought or sold, that exceed anything that can possibly be dreamed up on earth.

Great job, Ben

The other day, we were taking soup to the homeless when a man approached us.  He told us, “Come with me.  There is a family that is very poor.  Many people visit them and give them clothes.  You can even take pictures of them.”  That really bothered me.  Take pictures of them… like they’re monkeys in a zoo and not people, like all I cared to do was get my “feed the homeless” badge and then be on my way, like their value was about as much as the time it would take for a  couple photos…

When we arrived, we found a house in shambles but all the kids decently-dressed and looking mostly well-fed.  They gladly received hot soup and prayer, but the whole time I felt like they saw me as nothing more than a visitor taking pictures at the zoo.  (We didn’t take any photos, just so…

The Number 13

13What’s in a number? I ask that because I posted in regard to the number 13 being as the number of rebellion. I don’t generally get in to the numerology kick, for one, I don’t have the time and two, usually as I read I see some real stretching. So in my conversation with my pastor I’d mentioned the number 13 being the number of rebellion and he paused, then said show me. Well, that set me off on an interesting and confusing sojourn.
