The day the music died?

A number of people have asked me to express my thoughts and interpretations on the song, ” American Pie” by Don McLean. As I’ve mentioned, I was just getting out of high school when this song came out. Life was good, there was no better place to be, in the world, than America. The Vietnam war is soon over, the future is bright, and music ruled the skies. We all had our opinions on this strange but lovely piece of music shards, piecing together what groups or talents were being alluded to. It was a great testament to growing out of the music of the 50′s and 60′s, putting it to rest and getting on with the direction rock was heading, or so we thought.

A little over forty years later, older, wiser, in a totally different world which that age had not prepared us for, the view is different, much different. It’s already an auspicious start when the record label is ” Mayday Music Inc / Yaweh Tunes Inc ” ( image ). Let’s look a the lyrics again:

“But, February made me shiver with every paper I’d deliver
Bad news on the doorstep – I couldn’t take one more step
I can’t remember if I cried when I read about his widowed bride
Something touched me deep inside the day the music died “

“When the Jester sang for the king and queen in a coat he borrowed from James Dean
In a voice that came from you and me
Oh, and while the King was looking down the Jester stole his thorny crown
The courtroom was adjourned – no verdict was returned
And, while Lenin read a book on Marx the quartet practiced in the park, and…
We sang dirges in the dark the day the music died “

“Healter Skealter

in the summer swelter – the Birds flew off with a fallout shelter
Eight Miles High and falling fast
It landed foul on the grass
The players tried for a forward pass with the Jester on the sidelines in a cast
Now, the halftime air was sweet perfume while the Sergeants played a marching tune
We all got up to dance, oh, but we never got the chance
‘Cause the players tried to take the field – the marching band refused to yield
Do you recall what was revealed the day the music died?”

“And, there we were, all in one place - a generation Lost in Space
With no time left to start again
So, come on, Jack be nimble, Jack be quick – Jack Flash sat on a Candlestick, ’cause…
Fire is the Devil’s only friend
And, as I watched him on the stage my hands were clenched in fists of rage
No angel born in Hell could break that Satan’s spell
And, as the flames climbed high into the night to light the sacrificial rite, I saw…
Satan laughing with delight the day the music died

“I met a girl who sang the Blues, and I asked her for some happy news
She just smiled and turned away
I went down to the sacred store where I’d heard the music years before, but…
The man there said the music wouldn’t play
And, in the streets the children screamed, the lover’s cried, and the poets dreamed, but…
Not a word was spoken – the church bells all were broken
And, the three men I admire most: the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost, they…
Caught the last train for the coast the day the music died

“They were singing, bye bye Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry
Them good ol’ boys were drinking whiskey and rye, singing…
This’ll be the day that I die”

The world view today has changed dramatically and the perception of America, world wide, is no longer the land of milk and honey. Internally, the growing, and dominating force is bigger central government, entitlements, freebies, disrespect, nihilism, narcissism. The Constitution is no longer valid, not relevant, subject to judicial legislation. What made America as sweet as apple pie is gone, dead, hit the road. The POTUS has just about made himself a supreme despot of America, it’s my way or the highway.

Now reading the lyrics of this song I see it is filled with prophecy. But it’s written by a non-Christian. Doesn’t matter. God used Balaam, a prophet for the other side and even used a donkey, God can use anything. So, also, Satan, though he can’t foretell what God is about to do, does know what he is going to do as God allows him and, as such, puts words in the mouth of men as foretelling.  So is this song a dirge to the downfall of America?

February made me shiver with every paper I’d deliver
Bad news on the doorstep – I couldn’t take one more step
I can’t remember if I cried when I read about his widowed bride

Obama was smiling as he was singing. Does he know something we don’t know. Is this a prophetic statement that the POTUS is going to die in February? Or at least seemingly? Is the coat borrowed picking up from James Dean?

The courtroom was adjourned – no verdict was returned
And, while Lenin read a book on Marx the quartet practiced in the park,

This was really interesting when I dwelt on it. The coat of James Dean, rebel without a cause, senseless actions, in film and in real life. The Jester borrows that coat. The POTUS is in rebellion against the confines of the Constitution, taking unlawful actions, forcing collectivism down our throats, Socialism. And the quartet? Perhaps the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse? Was he practicing his Marxism while the Four Horsemen are being held back “in the park”

Healter Skealter in the summer swelter – the Birds flew off with a fallout shelter Eight Miles High and falling fast

Healter Skealter or helter skelter, by meaning, is disorderly haste or confusion, but this quote caught me

“But, beyond the fairground, what is helter-skelter? The term long predates

the fairground ride and has been used to mean disorderly haste or confusion since at least the 16th century. Thomas Nashe used it that way in his ‘Four letters confuted’, 1592:

“Helter skelter, feare no colours, course him, trounce him.”

(‘To confute’ is, or rather was, as it has been used only rarely since the 17th century, ‘to render futile’, ‘to prove an argument to be false’.)”

So we have disorderly haste and confusion, in the summer. Why? The birds take off with a fallout shelter, why? Eight miles high and falling fast. Is this an EMP attack in the summer, fallout shelters are useless and there will definitely be haste and confusion. Is this coincident with the POTUS recovering from his “resurrection” from death? (Jester’s in a cast now). Now the Sergeants, marching band. Marching bands are known for two things, football and military. Notice that the players try to take the field, the band refused to yield. Is this martial law, or a military coup? DO you recall what was revealed????

WOW! Now what follows:

“And, there we were, all in one place - a generation Lost in Space

With no time left to start again
So, come on, Jack be nimble, Jack be quick – Jack Flash sat on a Candlestick, ’cause…
Fire is the Devil’s only friend
And, as I watched him on the stage my hands were clenched in fists of rage

No angel born in Hell could break that Satan’s spell
And, as the flames climbed high into the night to light the sacrificial rite, I saw…
Satan laughing with delight the day the music died

Now we have a generation “lost in space” , totally clueless. following along. And what is revealed? A sacrificial rite, Satan laughing, no one can break the spell as the “abomination” occurs. Did Don McLean prophecy the coming of the anti-Christ and the fall of America? And the damning, the persecution of the church?

“I met a girl who sang the Blues, and I asked her for some happy news
She just smiled and turned away

I went down to the sacred store where I’d heard the music years before, but…
The man there said the music wouldn’t play
And, in the streets the children screamed, the lover’s cried, and the poets dreamed, but…
Not a word was spoken – the church bells all were broken

Caught the last train for the coast the day the music died

America has been pushing God out since the 60′s. And the pushing has grown to a frenetic pace presently. Soon to be totally banned, religious bookstores closed, churches boarded up, open season, killing Christians in the street. America, what ever is left of it, is Godless.

Christians have nothing to fear, God is their strength and shield, the protector. It’s those who have walked away or not taken God seriously that are in for a seriously bad time, especially those who have walked away. They will know what has happened, they will know who is in power and their hearts will sear. Is that you? Have you walked away to do your own thing? Are you walking the tight rope of disobedience? It’s time, now, today, for you to come back, not to be caught in what’s coming. This may be a ways off, or it may be this year. You don’t want to be caught. Repent, then. Take all this to Jesus who is ready to take you in. It’s your only hope.

  3. bye or bi =2 byebye = 22 pie = 3.14 3/22/14 this will be the day that I die or america dies. A lot of students of Daniels timeline came up with this date years ago but now I’m seeing much stronger arguments for 3/22/13 just days away for the abomination of desolation that will begin the great tribulation. Obama will be in Israel that day and perhaps the new pope will join him. What was revealed the day the music died 2/3/59 was two things. Russia made operational an ICBM that could reach the U.S. and Dr M L King would not visit the holy land (Israel) on his mideast tour. Music dying ref Chapter 3 Daniel and is the national anthem.
