godsfingers – Watchman on the Wall

Spiritual musings, prophetics, lessons, youth ministry, music, etc…by Dan Long

Wildfires? or a precursor to prophecy?

As a Watchman, I feel compelled to speak, even incompletely, what has been impressed on me today. I don’t have a “thus sayeth the Lord” right now, unless he speaks through the keyboard as I type.

As I was painfully reviewing a personal report from the Colorado fires from Holly Deyo, I was noting the depth of the destruction and pain and carnage, the unpreparedness for the devastation to come. There is no warning, no track, as officials put it, “I have never seen a progressive fire like this and I’ve been doing this a long time.” He indicated that the fire might burn easterly for 3 hours, then for no reason turn northwest, burn for another 4 hours, then turn south and burn for 3 hours. There was no rhyme or reason to this fire.”. Holly related, in regard to trying to help some friends get out of the way, “These friends lived in a modest home, but the amount of stuff to be relocated was staggering: Cadillacs, trucks, cows, paintings, vintage doll collections, pets, clothing, pictures, memories, vitals. We spent the afternoon moving all of the above into the valley.”

God has been speaking clearly and intently that His judgements are coming, that we need to lose the junk, both spiritual and temporal as time is of the essence. Continue reading

Lyrics: God’s Not Dead and not roaring like a lion

I posted, previously, my concerns over the song God’s not dead and the roaring like a lion part. It’s a great song without the roaring, and so, for the sake of the kids, I modified the lyrics to remove the Satan imagery and replaced it with an omnipresent God, which He is….

God’s Not Dead by the Newsboys (modified lyrics)

Let love explode And bring the dead to life A love so bold To see a revolution somehow
Let love explode And bring the dead to life A love so bold To bring a revolution somehow
Now I’m lost in your freedom And this world I’ll overcome

My God’s not dead He’s surely alive He’s living on the inside, living on the outside
My God’s not dead He’s surely alive He’s living on the inside, living on the outside
He’s living He’s living He’s living on the inside

Let hope arise And make the darkness hide My faith is dead I need a resurrection somehow
Now.. Now I’m lost in your freedom Now.. And this world I’ll overcome

My God’s not dead He’s surely alive He’s living on the inside, living on the outside
My God’s not dead He’s surely alive He’s living on the inside, living on the outside
He’s living He’s living He’s living on the inside
He’s living on the inside

Let Heaven roar And fire fall Come shake the ground With the sound of revival
Let Heaven roar And fire fall Come shake the ground With the sound of revival
Let Heaven roar And fire fall Come shake the ground With the sound of revival
Let Heaven roar And fire fall Come shake the ground With the sound of revival…

My God’s not dead He’s surely alive He’s living on the inside, living on the outside
My God’s not dead He’s surely alive He’s living on the inside, living on the outside
My God’s not dead He’s surely alive He’s living on the inside, living on the outside
My God’s not dead He’s surely alive He’s living on the inside, living on the outside…
He’s living He’s living He’s living on the inside…
He’s living on the outside

Using this arrangement I feel confident that we can enjoy the Newsboys and the catchy song without losing a beat..

Not very finished thoughts from my quiet time

My friend Ben, on the International battlefront in Romania submitted this, an awesome insight into acts of faith and our place with God.

It doesn’t take huge acts of boldness, in fact, it’s the very littleness of an act that allows the hugeness of God to take place. As Ben points out, the impact of your faith on those around you. While everybody wants Mikey to try the Life cereal ( I just caught that name significance), Mikey takes just that little step and pulls the rest of them into Life.

Hey, I wanna be like Mikey….

This morning, I was thinking about when Moses first saw the burning bush in Exodus 3.  After calling to Moses, God then tells him, “Do not come near here; remove your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground” (3:5).

My usual reaction to this verse is something like, “Since God’s holy, when Moses took off his sandals, it was like leaving behind the dirt, the grime, the sin of the world.”

But this morning I was thinking about how the removal of the sandals removed the barrier between man and what is holy.  With no sandals on his feet, Moses touched holy ground… with his bare skin.

America: A Festering Wound

In response to America Has Become A Festering Wound

Hi Glynda,

Thank you for your faithfulness. These words came to me in response for your readers, what a powerful admonition.

It is very true, the challenge of a Christian today can be getting locked up in a mental institution. And that’s the catch, are you qualified to being locked up and put away. For decades, one of the most powerful groups in the world has determined that if you really believe in God, if you really believe He answers prayer, if you really believe that He performs miracles, if you really believe He talks to you and answers your questions then you are psychotically delusional and a potential harm to yourself and those around you, needing to be locked away for your protection and the protection of those around you. Are you up to that challenge?

While praying about this Word, God reminded me of what I’ve ministered previously and this Word confirms that Word He’d given me. Preparation is valid, but what preparation? God has been admonishing us to be prepared, literally crying out to us to listen. But do we listen? Are we hearing what He’s saying? God’s judgement is coming and He doesn’t want us to be a part of it. It’s time to let loose of that which continues to bind us to the festering wound that is America. The reference isn’t to be taken lightly. A smelly, festering wound, oozing with puss and liquid, and flies upon it. Yet you still attach yourself to it. That is how God sees it and He wants your eyes opened.

A number of you have asked, “ but what should I buy, what should I store up?” totally missing what God was saying. I’m reminded of Jesus parable of the rich fool, in Luke 12:

18 “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. 19 And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”’
20 “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’
21 “This is how it will be with anyone who stores up things for himself but is not rich toward God.”

It’s the same thing, if God is telling you to prepare, yet hasn’t specified “items” He’s telling you, still, that you have life changes to make in preparation. You’re to store away His word, practice hearing His Spirit. Don’t be worried yet about “things”. He says:

“Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 28 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! 29 And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. 30 For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31 But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.

If you’re busying yourself by setting up stores and provisions yet neglecting the real meat and potatoes of a real relationship with God, you are lost and He is warning you:

“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. 33 Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. 34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

A friend shared with me something that was told her. He asked, “How much have you eaten?” , huh? Then he told her to take her closed Bible and look at the binding. He said, “ see those cracks? That is where you’ve eaten the Word and the Word is in you, but do you see where it’s smooth? That is the Word that is not inside you.”. How much of God’s Word have you eaten? How much is living in you? How much treasure do you own?

So what of this Word of God spoken through Glynda? Read it over and over and again until the tears flow. You should be wanting and waiting to hear, “ well done, good and faithful servant”. Read, pray, listen and obey. If God tells you specifically to get “things” or do “things” then by all means do it, He will provide. If He tells you, “Watch and wait” then do it, that is His command and anything else will be fruitless.

“Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, 36 like men waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. 37 It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. I tell you the truth, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. 38 It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the second or third watch of the night. 39 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. 40 You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”

41 Peter asked, “Lord, are you telling this parable to us, or to everyone?”
42 The Lord answered, “Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his servants to give them their food allowance at the proper time? 43 It will be good for that servant whom the master finds doing so when he returns. 44 I tell you the truth, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 45 But suppose the servant says to himself, ‘My master is taking a long time in coming,’ and he then begins to beat the menservants and maidservants and to eat and drink and get drunk. 46 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers.
47 “That servant who knows his master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what his master wants will be beaten with many blows. 48 But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

It doesn’t get any clearer than this…

Get Jesus outa here! WHAT? Where’s America heading?

What’s this country coming to and even more so, what’s up with North Carolina? The state, with the city of Chapel Hill, has gotten into more than it’s share of anti-Christian junk and now this comes out, where chaplains have to steer clear of Jesus. Pastor Terry Sartain, a police chaplain, is told by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Dept he can’t invoke the name of Jesus when he prays at public ceremonies. When he asks what he should pray, then, he’s told to pray something secular.

A while back when this secular movement was gaining traction and the words religion and religious kept being tossed about I got to thinking about those words. You’d hear statements of he/she did that religiously, a scientist/researcher did his work religiously so I did an English dictionary look up. To say someone got religion because he came to know the Christ Jesus has been terribly wrong, in reality, he’s simply changed his religion. I found it amusing to note that even we Preppers are religious, by definition.

To check Merriam-Webster you’ll find:

a : of or relating to the worldly or temporal

:  indifference to or rejection or exclusion of religion and religious considerations
a :  devotion to the humanities :  literary culture

b :  the revival of classical letters, individualistic and critical spirit, and emphasis on secular concerns characteristic of the Renaissance

:  a doctrine, attitude, or way of life centered on human interests or values; especially :  a philosophy that usually rejects supernaturalism and stresses an individual’s dignity and worth and capacity for self-realization through reason
relating to or manifesting faithful devotion to an acknowledged ultimate reality or deity
of, relating to, or devoted to religious beliefs or observances
a : scrupulously and conscientiously faithful b : fervent, zealous

: marked by fervent partisanship for a person, a cause, or an ideal : filled with or characterized by zeal

very hot : glowing
exhibiting or marked by great intensity of feeling

archaic :  ungodliness, wickedness
a :  a disbelief in the existence of deity

b :  the doctrine that there is no deity

And now the biggy:
a : the state of a religious <a nun in her 20th year of religion b (1) : the service and worship of God or the supernatural (2) : commitment or devotion to religious faith or observance
: a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices
archaic : scrupulous conformity : conscientiousness
a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith

So by these definitions, the Atheist is religious about his religion which is,  in fact, merely, not believing in a Deity, secular, a religion by definition. So in North Carolina ( all 50 states actually), officials are telling, demanding, Christian chaplains speak in the name of a state endorsed or established religion. This position is in violation of the 1st Amendment on so many levels. Not only are they being denied free exercise of religion, but by being told to speak secularly, the state is endorsing and establishing a religion, violating the establishment clause. No where does the Constitution state or imply freedom FROM religion, that would be impossible. The atheists along with the ACLU have long pushed, wrongfully, that the Constitution gives a guarantee of freedom from Christianity. This putting God in the closet has been going on for decades, but has been gaining traction as more and more “christian” churches join the Apostasy (see churches that support Americans United for Separation of church and state).

Our faith is under attack, it has been, but it is growing exponentially now. More and more people or institutions are being put out or forced out of the public eye and replaced with the government approved religious representation. The result is a country in apostasy. A treading near or even having crossed the line for its ultimate judgement and destruction. God has been slow to act in judgement, but it is coming and even now at hand. The country is worshiping images of wood and stone and electrons. Time is of the essence in being prepared or spared for that fateful day of God’s judgement.

Are you prepared? Is your life in order? I think of the flight instructions you sometimes get when flying. When talking about the oxygen mask sometimes the instructions are given, if you are traveling with a friend, put yours on first. Similarly, Jesus said to get the plank out of your own eye, then you can see to get the speck out of someone else’s. Don’t wait to see how it goes with someone else, get your life with God fixed first, then help theirs. There is no better time than now because you may not have tomorrow. Surrender your will, and religion, to Jesus Christ and the freedom He brings you. Salvation from Hell, and hell on earth, is just a breath away. Do it now!

California mega-quake coming?

When I checked my copy of earthquake3d this morning (a great little application program that shows earthquakes around the world realtime), I noted a 6.0 earthquake by the Aleutian Islands chain. I remembered a posting I saw at tribulation-now.org about a mega-quake that would happen May 20, 2012. What amused me was that it drew a conclusion due to an “X” on a map where the eclipse path was going to be running and supposedly Elenin was believed to be going to strike there.

X marks the spot, who’d a thunked it…

Well, I wrote about it here wondering aloud, what is this deal with the 20th or 21st for people soothsaying events. So now I see this earthquake today, of all places, where “X” marks the spot:

and today is June 19th, (Ok so what’s a month, less one day amongst friends). Now that was a little unnerving.

What brings up concern, really, though is an uncomfortable trend in the earthquake pattern. There has been a spinning cycle around the Pacific Rim this year but it’s been pretty much held to South America, Mexico and Indonesia. Up until now. Three days ago there was a 6.1 earthquake in the Philippines, then 2 days ago a 6.4 off of Japan and now this 6.0 followed by a 5.8 in the Aleutians. If the trend continues we could see a major earthquake in Oregon or California within days. I wrote earlier about the escalation of 6+ earthquakes this year and this movement over the last few weeks is the start of an ominous crescendo.

Prophecies have been on the increase and the urgency in God’s voice for His people to purify themselves for the coming cataclysms is strong. This will be a northern California quake, a precursor to what’s coming down the tubes. If you haven’t prepped you might want to take a little vacation. This won’t be the major quake, but don’t think that buys you time.

Are you prepped? Stores of food and water? Good. But are you really prepared? Are you filled with God’s Word? A friend shared with me that she was told to look at the binding on her Bible. Where the creases are, that is where you’ve eaten the Word and it’s inside of you, where the binding is smooth, that word isn’t in you….yet. Is there time? Yes, but no time like now. If you’re reading this it’s because God set up this appointment to give you the opportunity to be totally prepared. Take the time now, approach Him and receive the best preparation available, His Son and Holy Spirit. Open up the oldest and yet still the best preparation manual around ( sorry Holly, yours is second ;-) ) and so Receive Jesus today, then be able withstand anything else coming…

War games or precursor to prophecy?

smoke rising

I’ve just become aware that Russia, Iran, Syria, and China are going to be engaging in joint war games in the Middle East “soon” according to Iranian media. Debka file is also reporting this as is Haaretz. The timing of this in relation to Iran’s threat to break off nuclear talks is particularly poignant.

The players in this game are ominous. I’ve written before about the appearance of Gog and the fulfillment of Ezekiel 38&39. Iran is nuking up while we speak and waste time and Syria continues to thumb it’s nose at world peace. But China, in an axis with Russia, a shuddering thought. It brings to mind Rev 9:14-19

“It said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” 15 And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year were released to kill a third of mankind. 16 The number of the mounted troops was two hundred million. I heard their number.

17 The horses and riders I saw in my vision looked like this: Their breastplates were fiery red, dark blue, and yellow as sulfur. The heads of the horses resembled the heads of lions, and out of their mouths came fire, smoke and sulfur. 18 A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur that came out of their mouths. 19 The power of the horses was in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails were like snakes, having heads with which they inflict injury. “

So, what does this mean? So what? The scripture mentions the 4 angels bound at the Euphrates, it brings up an army of 200 million, long held as the Chinese army ( while many chuckled behind your back saying “ya, right”) but now quite capable. These forces will kill a third of mankind. It’s no secret the thoughts and impressions that Barack Obama is intent on destroying the US and as such there is no US in the Bible. It’s also been becoming apparent that China is intent on taking the US ( in that event they’ll take Canada also, keep building that pipeline for them Canada). Joel Rosenberg’s new book Implosion brings us to the edge and beyond of world financial disaster. (Please note, I’m making no attempt to create a Biblical timeline.)

So is this a precursor? I believe so. The events of men happen because of men, who don’t even know or understand their place in God’s plan. For those in Christ this should be an exciting time, a time to get off your proverbial butts and get going in the Lord’s work about you. It’s time to get uncomfortable, because, frankly, you do it willingly now, or get hit unprepared later. The weather events should be enough for you to start listening to the words given by the prophets of old and the prophets of today’s outpouring, try it, test it but begin preparing. Even these God ordained “unnatural” weather events should be enough to have you preparing for shortages and lack. Pray what God would have you do, and then DO IT. It’s time to trust God now, not our past.

What of you? Are you prepared? Do you have the Spirit of Christ within you prompting you for His return? If not, what are you waiting for? You are here, on this site, because God’s Holy Spirit drew you here. This is God’s appointment with you. You didn’t get here by accident. He wants you to hear and act. Take this time, accept that you are a sinner. Accept the gift that Jesus, the Christ offers you, salvation and eternal life. Talk to Him now and be prepared…

Do you need a donkey?

A long, long time ago in a land far, far away God used an unusual method to get His point across. In Numbers 22-24 a King of Moab was distressed by the Israelites coming into the land fearing that they would over run him and take over, doing to him what they did to the Amorites. So he summoned the prophet Balaam to come and curse the Israelites. Balaam turned him down until he was offered a handsome reward. On the way Balaam was probably preoccupied with his reward but his donkey wasn’t. The donkey kept seeing the roadblocks and stopping, but Balaam, blinded by his greed, didn’t see so he kept beating the donkey. Finally, God put words in the donkey’s mouth which then caused Balaam to get back to reality and see the angel with the sword blocking the way. He then went on to do God’s will to bless, not curse, Israel.

How many times do we have this problem? You’re working “God’s will” trying to push forward, but things keep getting in the way. Things keep blocking the way that don’t make sense or keep detracting the mission. You keep thinking, “if only I can get past this” or “what gives, if only this weren’t in the way I could, I would, I will….”. You plead the case of the persistent widow and the judge (Luke 18″1-7) and things still don’t change. So you keep peddling in the same direction because God is teaching you patience and long-suffering, you think. When you reach this point do you take an honest look at the end result you want? Is it YOUR end result? Are the blessings for YOU? Have you put aside confirmations to the contrary blinding yourself because you’re focused on the end result?

Project orientation teaches you to stay focused, to keep the end in sight. Avoid distractions and, if needed, deal harshly with those that get in your way. When I ran cross-country I was trained to find a tree or landmark to focus on and keep running a straight line, stay the course. When I was in politics there was a tendency to compromise ethics because, of course, winning was the ultimate goal. This is all fine and good, in a secular sense, when doing projects. But what of when we are doing God’s work, or following God’s plan for our lives?

God’s plan for our lives always appears to be in development. Our job is serve and obey, and the two work together. God’s plan is not necessarily a straight line to the finish, due to either His work, or us getting in the way. The Israelites probably could have walked straight to the promised land, but they got in the way of themselves and had to walk around the same problem for 40 years. Sometimes God’s plan has a lot of stops along the way by His will for your development, learning His steps along the way. Careful, faithful scrutiny is needed to determine the difference between our will and God’s will.

If you’re finding yourself running into frequent road blocks, or constantly having to steer yourself back on course, take a good look at where you’re going. Is this where God wants you to be, or to be headed? Is this God’s will or your will? Is the end result going to be a closer walk or a further away, distracted walk? Is the end result your own self promotion? God doesn’t want you to have a dark, funless life, but He does want that fun to be His fun. So are you walking in HIS will? Prayerfully seek Him out. You don’t want a donkey talking to you

Speak up or be lost

In response to Regret or Reward

What have I done???????

Good morning Glynda

It breaks my heart that the Father has to repeat this message to His children. Things should be self-evident, the enemy is at hand. He seeks to devour, to kill and destroy, or at the very least convince you to sit down on your hands and ignore the world around you. Teachings of self gratuity or false piety run rampant at this time distracting from God’s true voice. I know that much of this has been going on for a couple of millennium but, having run in politics myself, I know that today’s media can spread the lie faster than the truth can clean up the mess.

The voice of God is true and straight:

Busyness, busyness, busyness. Yes, the idle hand is the devils playground but your busyness must be about the Father’s business. He is calling to you again and again and again. Who will you serve? By doing nothing you serve the enemy. By filling your time with mindless games you serve the enemy. By filling your space with worldly noise you serve the enemy. Why do you refuse the Father’s voice?

To those who listen I offer encouragement. To those that listen I offer peace. To those that listen I offer strength to overcome. To those that listen I offer victory. Leave the world behind and follow me, it is the only way.

These words of the Father’s frustration at disobedience and unbelief have been more frequent, and rightfully so. As the enemy mounts his attacks more and more Christians bow to them and go into hiding or worse, accept the deception. There is too much fear amongst the church leadership to expose the snake of lies slithering around in their very churches. Satan knows his time is short and he’s working overtime to deceive and too many people are sleeping on the job, some out of neglect and some out of fear.

The times we are in have never engulfed the world before. Today I read that in Europe the last vestige of financial strength, Germany, is waffling and beginning to fold. Europe is on the brink and the US will follow. The signs of the total fulfillment of prophecy is clearly on us, yet pastor’s won’t talk about it from the pulpit. They can’t offend or worry their flock. They have homes to pay for, vacations to take, building plans, church expansion, etc, etc. etc. Or, even worse, they know, but fear to say anything because they or someone they know talked about the end of the world before, and they were wrong.

These signs of the times are clear, and many concise. The world is rapidly steaming forward toward it’s destruction as foretold in history. The difference between now and say the Civil war or WWI or WWII when others were sure it was the end of the world is that other prophecies, now, have been fulfilled that set the clock ticking. No, the 1967 war in the Mideast was not it either, but then those who declared hadn’t checked the key players. God has spoken plainly about this time, it is the buildup and the total chaos of His judgements is about to be unleashed. And I must speak.

When you ask me, “but what if you’re wrong like those before you?”, I tell you this, I would rather speak and be wrong than to be right and silent…..

The time is now, God will provide

In response to “The New Age Is Beginning”

Great and glorious morning, Glynda. God is faithful and just, and to be praised.

The devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking who he can devour, constantly challenging us, trying to find weaknesses. Resist him and seek He who is above all things.

In my quiet time this morning I was directed to Colossians 3:1-12

” Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your[a] life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.[b] 7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8 But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 11 Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.

12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”

Then I come to find this Word from the Lord. God is an awesome God and His Word is our strength and stature. Clearly, with what is coming we CAN NOT stand alone, or on our “goodness” from the past. Only God directs our course, others can not (without the specific gifts of prophecy and discernment) tell us which way to go because only God knows the course laid out for us. As it says in Hebrews 12:1

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”

God is awesome in His Word and deed. Prepare, walk closely, prepare, seek His intimacy, prepare, hear His voice, prepare, He is calling you now.
